I Have a New Name

I'm beginning to see that my masters are a wee bit cukoo. I was just settling into my adorable name, Pepe, when they decided that I don't look Mexican. They said they love the name, but it just doesn't fit with my all-American rugged good looks. So they up and changed my name on me. Now my name is Teddy. Brian and Laura think I look more like a snuggly teddy bear than a Pepe, and they were tired of people laughing when they said they'd named me Pepe. Although it was a bit unsettling to change names so abruptly, I think I agree ... I'm definitely a Teddy. Click here to see my new life blog as Teddy the Labradoodle.

I'm 5 weeks old now!

Today Brian and Laura came to visit me for the second time! This time they brought some shiny metal box that kept beeping and capturing my likeness (more pictures here).

This week I had a lot more energy -- I was bounding around sniffing, climbing, licking, whining, and pawing for all that I had in me.

Eventually I got pretty tuckered out and slept for the majority of the morning. My masters were very snuggly.

Then I thought that I might want to wake up, but then I came to my senses and went back to sleep. Hey, it's the weekend after all.

Sadly, my masters had to leave me again. I was too sleepy to wake up on my own, so Laura picked me up in the most unnatural of ways:

After that, I think they might have gone to buy me a bunch of doggie things: toothbrush, bedding, bitter apple spray (so I won't bite their furniture), leash/collar, and more. I can't wait to see them again next week!

Born 9-14-2006

Hi. My name is Pepe, and I am a Labradoodle. That's 50% Labrador retriever (from my mom) and 50% poodle (from my dad).

I was born on September 14, 2006, and I was the only blond/yellow lab in my entire litter. All of my siblings are black like my mother. My yellow blood came from my grandparents.

When I turned four weeks old, my masters, Brian and Laura, came and picked me out. They let me play on their laps, tug on their shirts, and sleep in their arms. I couldn't stay awake for very long after 10 minutes of frantic activity checking them out. Even though the breeders let in other people and dogs, I could only pay attention to my new masters, Brian and Laura. The breeder had to show everyone how submissive I was by picking me up and looking me in the eyes. I had to look down and away first so that everyone would think I'm a submissive dog.

Right now I have soft, short blond hair. My dad's hair is curly, so we'll see if I take after my dad at all.
